RedactFirst is built with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and what third-party services may be involved when you use the RedactFirst web application.
Overview
- RedactFirst processes documents locally in your browser
- We do not upload, store, or access your files
- We collect minimal, anonymous analytics
- We may introduce advertising in the future to support our free tier
Information We Do Not Collect
RedactFirst does not collect:
- Personal identifiable information (PII)
- Document contents or file metadata
- Uploaded files (files are never uploaded)
Your documents remain on your device at all times.
Local File Processing
All PDF processing happens locally in your browser.
- Files are never uploaded
- Files are never transmitted to our servers
- Files are never stored by RedactFirst
Closing the page clears all in-memory data.
Third-Party Services
RedactFirst uses:
- Umami Analytics for anonymous, privacy-friendly usage statistics
Analytics
RedactFirst uses Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand general usage trends.
Umami Analytics collects:
- Anonymous page views
- Aggregate usage statistics
Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites.
Advertising (Future Use)
RedactFirst does not currently display advertisements. However, in the future, we may introduce advertising (such as Google AdSense) to help support the continued operation of our free tier.
If advertising is enabled:
- Third-party ad providers may collect information using cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies
- Data collected may include IP address, browser type, and general device information
